Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 24-hour on-call shifts, 7 days on / 7 days off (14 days per month). 24-hour coverage for inpatient rounding, procedures and ED/ER call. Candidate must be available for specific required date blocks (mandatory: 2026-03-17 to 2026-03-23; additional blocks through the year include 4/14-4/20, 06/09-06/15, 07/07-07/13, 08/04-08/10, 08/18-08/24, 09/15-09/21, 09/29-10/05, 10/13-10/19, 10/27-11/02, 11/24-11/30, 12/08-12/14, 12/22-12/28).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality inpatient gastroenterology care including consultations, rounding and management of hospitalized patients
• Perform ERCP and bread-and-butter endoscopic procedures with safe, evidence-based technique
• Respond to ED/ER calls and manage acute GI presentations promptly and effectively
• Document clinical encounters and procedures accurately in Epic to support continuity of care
• Collaborate closely with inpatient APPs, nursing and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow and outcomes
• Participate in credentialing/onboarding activities and maintain required privileges and professional standards

Qualifications

• ERCP proficiency is required
• Experience with inpatient GI care and inpatient procedures
• Comfortable taking ED/ER call and managing urgent inpatient consultations
• Experience using Epic or similar EMR for documentation
• Clean professional and credentialing record to enable expedited privileges
• Available to start ASAP and able to cover required date blocks

Education

• Medical degree (MD or DO)
• Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• ERCP and therapeutic endoscopy skills
• Strong inpatient gastroenterology clinical judgment
• Ability to manage consults and acute GI issues in the ED and hospital setting
• Efficient procedural documentation and charting in Epic
• Team-based communication working with APPs, nursing and other specialists
• Time management and prioritization during busy inpatient shifts
