Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report significant changes to the nursing team
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe use of assistive devices to promote independence
- Maintain clean, safe, and respectful resident environments while following facility protocols
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Document care delivered in a timely and accurate manner to support continuity and quality
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (required). Pennsylvania certification strongly preferred given the facility location
- Previous experience in a long-term care or assisted living setting is a plus
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a resident-centered mindset
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks required for direct patient care
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; completion of an accredited CNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and ADL assistance
- Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
- Infection prevention and safe hygiene practices
- Effective, compassionate communication with residents and families
- Teamwork and ability to follow care plans and nursing direction
