Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist residents with hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility support
• Take and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes to nursing staff
• Support safe transfers and use of assistive devices to promote mobility
• Document resident care and observations in the facility record clearly and promptly
• Support a positive, respectful environment for residents and their families
• Collaborate with the care team to follow care plans and deliver high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification or license (required)
• Active registration in Connecticut CNA registry as applicable
• Compassionate patient-centered approach and strong communication skills
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, transferring, and standing for shifts
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Willingness to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Completion of an approved CNA training program or equivalent
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic patient care
• Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling techniques
• Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Basic documentation skills and familiarity with electronic or paper charts
• Team-oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced long-term care environment
