Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living to residents
- Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and mobility while promoting dignity and independence
- Take and record basic vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff promptly
- Document care accurately and timely in resident charts and care plans
- Support safe transfers and positioning, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Collaborate with the nursing team to ensure continuity of care and resident comfort
- Engage residents with respect and empathy to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- Current, active CNA certification in the state of Pennsylvania
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Comfortable assisting with mobility and performing physical aspects of resident care
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar setting is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of direct patient care and assistance with ADLs
- Basic vital signs measurement and reporting
- Infection control and safe hygiene practices
- Proper use of lift/transfer techniques and resident safety
- Clear documentation and charting practices
- Compassionate interpersonal skills and resident-centered care
- Ability to follow care plans and directions from nursing staff
