Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients with dignity and respect
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor and document vital signs and patient conditions accurately and promptly
• Support safe transfers and ambulation while following proper body mechanics
• Communicate changes in patient status to the care team and contribute to care plans
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required)
• Valid authorization to practice in Connecticut (per state requirements)
• Comfortable working in long-term care or skilled nursing environments (experience preferred)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with nurses and other staff
• Willingness to undergo background check and required health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Resident-centered care and experience with activities of daily living
• Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, documenting observations, safe lifting/transfer techniques
• Infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Reliable time management, attention to detail, and compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to follow care plans and communicate clearly with interdisciplinary teams
