Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting while preserving dignity
- Monitor residents’ conditions and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and observations
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the care team
- Follow infection control protocols and facility safety procedures
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training to keep skills current
Qualifications
- Current and valid CNA certification in Pennsylvania
- High school diploma or GED (see education section for details)
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfort with direct resident care and working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Pass required background checks and immunization/screening requirements
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and assistance with ADLs
- Basic charting and documentation practices
- Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
- Ability to observe, prioritize, and report resident changes
- Teamwork, reliability, and time management in a clinical setting
- Respect for resident privacy, dignity, and cultural differences
