Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Monitor and report changes in residents’ conditions to nursing staff promptly
- Support safe transfers and ambulation while following facility protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and communicate effectively with the care team
- Help create a warm, home-like environment and engage residents in meaningful activities
- Adhere to infection control, safety standards, and facility policies at all times
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (CT) or active state registry as required
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved CNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident care best practices
- Familiarity with basic charting and documentation
- Ability to follow care plans and directions from licensed nursing staff
- Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
- Interpersonal skills to interact kindly with residents and families
