Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning to promote comfort and dignity
Maintain accurate documentation of care and observations in resident charts
Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans

Qualifications

Current CNA certification valid in Connecticut
Recent clinical experience working with long-term care or skilled nursing residents preferred
Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain if required by the facility

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

Skilled in providing ADL support (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting)
Familiarity with resident mobility techniques and safe transfer practices
Basic charting and documentation skills
Knowledge of infection control principles and PPE use
Good observation skills and ability to escalate clinical concerns
