Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to residents, assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes in condition
• Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics
• Assist nursing staff with specimen collection, documentation, and care plans
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Communicate clearly with residents and families to provide person-centered care
• Participate in shift handoffs and document observations in the resident record
• Support facility initiatives to improve quality of care and resident satisfaction

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (valid in Pennsylvania)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; dependable and compassionate
• Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
• Ability to take accurate vital signs and recognize changes
• Familiarity with documentation practices and electronic health records
• Customer-service mindset when interacting with residents and families
• Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
