Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding) with dignity and compassion
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Provide safe, attentive bedside care and help maintain a clean environment
• Support mobility and transfer assistance to reduce fall risk and promote independence
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team to ensure coordinated care
• Document patient care accurately and timely in accordance with facility policies
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (state certification required; PA certification preferred)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
• Compassionate patient-care mindset with strong communication skills
• Prior experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited CNA program
• Current state CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care and ADLs (activities of daily living)
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Strong observational skills and the ability to report clinical changes
• Familiarity with infection control practices and resident safety procedures
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
• Basic documentation skills; comfort with electronic or paper charting
