Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized critical care for pediatric patients in a state-of-the-art 14-bed Cardiac ICU
• Manage perioperative and postoperative care for a high-volume congenital heart surgical program (400+ cases/year)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support ECMO and congenital heart catheterization programs
• Participate in patient care across the dedicated 24-bed tertiary PICU and the 30-bed pediatric emergency department
• Support pediatric and neonatal transport services to ensure safe transfers and continuity of care
• Perform procedural sedation services as part of comprehensive pediatric care
• Contribute to academic activities by teaching and mentoring UNLV School of Medicine residents rotating through the ICU
• Champion best practices in pediatric cardiac critical care and provide leadership and continuity through rotating schedules and on-call duties

Qualifications

• Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Pediatric Critical Care OR Pediatric Cardiology with an additional year of CICU training
• Experience with pediatric cardiac critical care, including familiarity with ECMO and congenital heart catheterization programs
• Comfort participating in procedural sedation and supporting pediatric/neonatal transport teams
• Willingness to work rotating schedules, including on-call and weekend coverage
• Must reside within the immediate local area or be willing to relocate to meet the residency requirement
• Locums candidates not accepted; visa sponsorship not accepted

Education

• Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Pediatric Critical Care OR Pediatric Cardiology with an extra year of CICU training

• Expertise in CICU care and pediatric critical care practices
• Clinical knowledge of pediatric cardiology and congenital heart disease management
• Hands-on experience with ECMO and congenital heart catheterization support
• Skill in procedural sedation and perioperative ICU management
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and provide leadership
• Comfort with academic teaching and mentoring of residents
• Experience with pediatric and neonatal transport logistics and safety
