Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and assessments for patients in a correctional setting
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Document patient care and clinical observations thoroughly and timely
• Collaborate with RNs, providers, and correctional staff to coordinate care
• Monitor patient status and escalate concerns to clinical leadership
• Maintain safety, security, and confidentiality while working inside the facility
• Follow facility policies including restricted personal device procedures

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license valid in Pennsylvania
• Experience in direct patient care; correctional healthcare experience is a strong plus
• Ability to pass facility security screening and background checks
• Comfort working in a jail/correctional environment and following strict safety rules
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain prior to start

Education

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program or equivalent diploma
• Current LPN licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in medication administration, vital signs, and basic wound care
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
• Familiarity with infection control practices and correctional facility protocols
• Ability to de-escalate situations and work safely with challenging patient populations
• Good communication and teamwork skills with clinical and security staff
