Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate occupational therapy interventions under the direction of an OTR to help patients regain independence
- Perform ADL training, adaptive equipment recommendations, and functional task practice to improve daily living skills
- Collect and document objective patient data, progress notes, and treatment outcomes accurately and on time
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and adjust individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on home programs, safety strategies, and use of adaptive equipment
- Maintain a safe, organized treatment environment and ensure equipment is used and stored properly
Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) — required
- Comfortable working Monday through Friday daytime schedule
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear documentation and team collaboration
- Reliable professional demeanor and commitment to patient-centered care
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of ADL/IADL training and adaptive techniques
- Skilled in activity-based therapeutic interventions and documentation
- Ability to follow treatment plans and modify activities based on patient response
- Teamwork and effective communication with OTRs, nurses, and other rehab staff
- Basic knowledge of safety precautions and equipment handling
