Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients to identify functional limitations and design individualized OT treatment plans
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve independence with daily living activities
- Document patient progress clearly and timely in the medical record system
- Collaborate with physicians, PTs, SLPs, nursing, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
- Provide education and training to patients and families to support safe transitions and carryover
- Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to maximize patient function
- Participate in care planning and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active Occupational Therapist license in Maryland or ability to obtain prior to start
- OTR or equivalent credential preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Clinical experience in adult rehab or similar settings is a plus; new grads with strong clinical skills encouraged to apply
- Strong interpersonal and documentation skills, with a patient-centered approach
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in clinical assessment and development of functional treatment plans
- Familiarity with adaptive equipment, splinting basics, and ADL training
- Comfortable working as part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team
- Proficient with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
