Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients to identify functional limitations and design individualized OT treatment plans
• Implement therapeutic interventions to improve independence with daily living activities
• Document patient progress clearly and timely in the medical record system
• Collaborate with physicians, PTs, SLPs, nursing, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Provide education and training to patients and families to support safe transitions and carryover
• Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to maximize patient function
• Participate in care planning and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapist license in Maryland or ability to obtain prior to start
• OTR or equivalent credential preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Clinical experience in adult rehab or similar settings is a plus; new grads with strong clinical skills encouraged to apply
• Strong interpersonal and documentation skills, with a patient-centered approach

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in clinical assessment and development of functional treatment plans
• Familiarity with adaptive equipment, splinting basics, and ADL training
• Comfortable working as part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team
• Proficient with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
