Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
- Support safe mobility and transfers using proper techniques to protect residents and staff
- Document resident care and observations clearly and promptly in the chart
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
- Maintain infection control practices and a clean, safe environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
- Eligibility or active certification to work as a CNA in Maine (facility will confirm requirements)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification as required by the facility
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced care environment with a strong bedside manner
- Ability to pass required background checks, drug screening, and TB screening per facility policy
Education
- High school diploma or GED and completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and ADL support
- Accurate vital signs collection and basic patient assessments
- Clear, timely documentation and charting
- Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
- Infection prevention and control practices
- Effective communication and teamwork with clinical staff
- Time management and prioritization in a dynamic care setting
