Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily nursing care to residents, focusing on safety and dignity
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
- Perform assessments, record vital signs, and report clinical changes promptly
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members for coordinated care
- Support resident mobility, ADLs, and comfort measures with respect and patience
- Educate residents and families about care plans and health maintenance
- Maintain accurate, timely charting in the facility electronic health record
Qualifications
- Active LPN license in New Mexico or eligibility to obtain prior to start
- Travel LPN experience or openness to travel assignments is welcome
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Ability to work scheduled days: Sunday, Thursday, Saturday with 12+ hour shifts
- Current immunizations and ability to complete facility background checks and health screenings
Education
- Diploma or certificate from an accredited Practical Nursing program
- Active LPN licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in medication administration and documentation
- Strong assessment and observation skills for early identification of changes
- Comfortable with electronic health record charting
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with residents, families, and staff
- Good time management and prioritization in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Basic wound care and post-op care knowledge applicable to long-term care
