Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using the Nursing Process
- Administer medications and treatments safely and according to hospital policies
- Document patient conditions, treatments, and progress accurately and promptly
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Provide patient and family education on disease management, treatments, and preventive care
- Supervise, teach, and delegate to LPNs and Medical Assistants to support clinical workflows
- Advocate for patients and offer compassionate emotional support during care
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the New Hampshire Board of Nursing; Nursys verification required at submission
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (required)
- At least some nursing experience; new graduates are not being considered at this time
- NH license or active Compact license allowed; license must be active at time of submission
- Candidates should be in the process of moving to New Hampshire (serious inquiries only)
- Experience in outpatient or gastroenterology settings and supervising clinical support staff is a plus
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) required to hold RN licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Proficient in medication administration and safe practice
- Excellent nursing documentation and medical terminology knowledge
- Skilled in patient education and care coordination
- Ability to lead, mentor, and delegate to LPNs and Medical Assistants
- Familiarity with outpatient procedures, hospital policies, and regulatory compliance
