Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the unit team to deliver excellent patient care
• Coordinate and oversee day-to-day clinical operations and staffing
• Ensure regulatory and facility standards are met and exceeded
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Manage schedules, assignments, and resource allocation effectively
• Mentor, coach, and develop nursing staff to strengthen clinical skills
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and performance metrics
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and leadership to ensure transparency

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (able to practice in Maine or via an accepted compact license)
• Experience functioning in a unit management or nurse leadership role
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage staffing, and coordinate clinical operations
• Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
• Travel or contract nursing experience is a plus

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Leadership and team-building skills to guide clinical staff
• Clinical judgment and patient-care coordination
• Familiarity with unit operations, staffing models, and quality processes
• Effective documentation and clinical communication
• Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams and escalate issues appropriately
