Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the unit team to deliver excellent patient care
- Coordinate and oversee day-to-day clinical operations and staffing
- Ensure regulatory and facility standards are met and exceeded
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Manage schedules, assignments, and resource allocation effectively
- Mentor, coach, and develop nursing staff to strengthen clinical skills
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and performance metrics
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and leadership to ensure transparency
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (able to practice in Maine or via an accepted compact license)
- Experience functioning in a unit management or nurse leadership role
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage staffing, and coordinate clinical operations
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
- Travel or contract nursing experience is a plus
Education
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Leadership and team-building skills to guide clinical staff
- Clinical judgment and patient-care coordination
- Familiarity with unit operations, staffing models, and quality processes
- Effective documentation and clinical communication
- Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams and escalate issues appropriately
