Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled occupational therapy interventions as a Certified OT Assistant to help patients regain independence
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement individualized treatment plans
• Monitor and document patient progress clearly and promptly
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic activities, safety and home program carryover
• Assist with adaptive equipment, splinting, and therapeutic modalities under the OT plan of care
• Support safe transfers, positioning, and functional mobility training
• Participate in care planning and discharge planning to promote successful transitions

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
• Completion of an accredited OTA/Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Current state licensure or eligibility as required by facility
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
• Experience in inpatient rehab, skilled nursing, or similar settings preferred
• Ability to pass background check and any facility-specific screenings

Education

• Associate degree or diploma from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in OT therapeutic techniques and activity analysis
• Strong clinical documentation and charting skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with nurses, therapists and physicians
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment and assistive device training
• Good communication and patient education skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced rehab environment
