Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living
• Perform routine vital signs monitoring and report changes to the nursing team
• Assist with mobility, transfers, bathing, dressing, and feeding as needed
• Document patient care accurately and timely in charts and logs
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients
• Communicate effectively with nurses, providers, and security to coordinate care
• Follow facility policies and security protocols while delivering respectful care

Qualifications

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain during orientation
• Comfortable working in a correctional facility environment and following security procedures
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings (e.g., TB test)
• Reliable attendance for a Monday–Friday daytime schedule

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Foundational clinical skills in patient hygiene, transfer assistance, and ADLs
• Basic vital signs assessment and documentation
• Infection control and safe handling techniques
• Attention to detail with charting and shift handoffs
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow protocols and collaborate with nursing staff and security
