Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing function using evidence-based approaches
• Develop individualized treatment plans that set clear, measurable goals
• Deliver skilled therapy sessions and adapt interventions to each patient’s needs
• Document progress and maintain accurate clinical records in the facility’s system
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy colleagues and interdisciplinary teams to support patient-centered care
• Provide patient and family education to promote carryover and functional progress
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to discharge planning when appropriate

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent)
• Massachusetts SLP license required or eligible to obtain state licensure
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Previous experience in a rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or extended care setting preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with clinical workflows

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment and treatment of dysphagia and cognitive-communication disorders
• Proficient in developing measurable, patient-centered treatment plans
• Comfortable with interdisciplinary collaboration and care coordination
• Experience with clinical documentation and documentation standards
• Strong interpersonal and patient/family education skills
