Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy services to patients under the supervision of the OT team
- Implement individualized treatment plans focused on activities of daily living and functional independence
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and maximize patient outcomes
- Document treatment sessions, progress, and discharge recommendations clearly and timely
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, home programs, and adaptive strategies
- Contribute to a positive, safety-focused environment that promotes patient dignity and recovery
Qualifications
- Current COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) credential
- Eligible for or holding any state licensure/registration required to practice in West Virginia
- Comfortable working in a rehabilitation/contract facility setting
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Ability to follow established treatment plans and document accurately
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current COTA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL training and functional rehabilitation techniques
- Ability to perform patient assessments and implement treatment interventions
- Good clinical reasoning and the ability to adapt interventions to patient needs
- Clear documentation practices and attention to regulatory requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and the care team
