Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ functional mobility and create individualized treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to maximize independence
- Collaborate with nursing and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Document patient progress accurately and timely in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe mobility
- Assist with discharges and transitions of care to ensure continuity
- Adapt treatment approaches when floating between Starkville Manor and Winona Manor
Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapist license in Mississippi or eligibility to obtain one promptly
- Valid BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- Comfortable floating between facilities as noted in the assignment
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach
- Prior experience in skilled nursing, outpatient, or inpatient rehab settings preferred
Education
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Bachelor's in related field considered with appropriate experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic exercise, manual techniques, and gait training
- Skilled in patient assessment, progress measurement, and care planning
- Familiarity with common assistive devices and safe transfer techniques
- Experience with documentation in electronic medical records
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
