Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized rehab plans to help patients regain independence
• Deliver therapeutic interventions such as therapeutic exercise, gait training, and functional mobility practice
• Monitor patient progress and provide timely, accurate documentation in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety techniques, and ongoing recovery strategies
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain a safe, organized treatment area and adhere to infection control and safety policies

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted PTA license for Massachusetts (or compact/state-appropriate license)
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• BLS/CPR certification required; additional certifications a plus
• Comfortable with documentation in electronic health record systems
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; compassionate, patient-centered approach
• Previous experience in rehabilitation or post-acute care preferred

Education

• Associate degree or completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, transfers, and functional mobility techniques
• Knowledge of common orthopedic and neurologic rehab diagnoses and appropriate interventions
• Proficient in outcome measurement and progress reporting
• Good clinical judgment and the ability to follow skilled therapy plans
• Able to work collaboratively with PTs, nursing staff, and other members of the care team
