Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify patient needs
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that produce measurable progress
• Deliver skilled therapy for communication, cognition, voice, swallowing, and related disorders
• Document patient progress and maintain accurate clinical records in the facility system
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and families to ensure coordinated care
• Educate patients and caregivers with practical strategies to support carryover
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active state license in Speech-Language Pathology (PA license required for practice in Pennsylvania)
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or working toward certification
• Experience in rehabilitative settings, acute care, or skilled nursing preferred
• Strong clinical documentation skills and experience with goal-driven care
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered approach

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in standardized and informal speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing assessments
• Ability to develop evidence-based treatment plans and measurable goals
• Familiarity with electronic health records and clinical documentation best practices
• Competence in patient and caregiver education and discharge planning
• Comfort working as part of an interdisciplinary rehab team
