Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify patient needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that produce measurable progress
- Deliver skilled therapy for communication, cognition, voice, swallowing, and related disorders
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate clinical records in the facility system
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and families to ensure coordinated care
- Educate patients and caregivers with practical strategies to support carryover
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active state license in Speech-Language Pathology (PA license required for practice in Pennsylvania)
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or working toward certification
- Experience in rehabilitative settings, acute care, or skilled nursing preferred
- Strong clinical documentation skills and experience with goal-driven care
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered approach
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in standardized and informal speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing assessments
- Ability to develop evidence-based treatment plans and measurable goals
- Familiarity with electronic health records and clinical documentation best practices
- Competence in patient and caregiver education and discharge planning
- Comfort working as part of an interdisciplinary rehab team
