Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, respectful care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility
- Observe and document resident conditions and report changes to nursing staff promptly
- Support mealtime and hydration needs while promoting independence where possible
- Help maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
- Build warm relationships with residents and families to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- GNA certification (required) — you are trained and ready to care for older adults
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong communication skills
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
- Reliable transportation and punctuality for scheduled shifts
Education
- Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent training
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Skillful assistance with ADLs (activities of daily living) and mobility support
- Basic documentation and charting accuracy
- Ability to follow care plans and verbal/written instructions
- Teamwork and collaboration with nurses, therapists and support staff
