Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming) with kindness and dignity
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper techniques to protect residents and yourself
• Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to the nursing team to help ensure timely care
• Document care accurately and clearly to keep the care team informed and residents safe
• Help create a warm, home-like atmosphere through compassionate interactions and respectful communication
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents
• Collaborate with nurses and therapy staff to support individualized care plans and positive outcomes

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (or equivalent state nursing assistant certification)
• CPR/BLS certification required or willing to obtain upon hire
• Comfort working with older adults and a passion for geriatric care
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role, including lifting and assisting with mobility
• Previous experience in a long-term care, memory care, or assisted living setting preferred

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• State-approved GNA / Nursing Assistant certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic patient care and ADL assistance
• Safe transfer and mobility techniques
• Infection control and hygiene practices
• Accurate charting and observational reporting
• Compassionate, patient-centered communication
• Familiarity with common geriatric conditions and care approaches
