Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled physical therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed PT
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional mobility
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting care and communicating with the team
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe mobility strategies
• Collaborate with PTs, nursing, and interdisciplinary staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Ensure equipment safety and proper use, and maintain accurate treatment records

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist Assistant license (California) or eligible to obtain licensure
• Graduation from an accredited PTA program
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or obtain upon hire
• Prior experience in physical therapy settings preferred; new grads with strong clinical skills considered
• Strong communication and documentation skills, comfortable working in a team-based environment
• Ability to start ASAP and commit to a 13-week contract

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (Associate degree or equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic exercise, gait training, transfers, and functional mobility techniques
• Skilled in patient assessment, progress documentation, and treatment planning
• Familiarity with common rehab equipment and safety protocols
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Strong interpersonal skills and patient-focused bedside manner
• Comfortable using electronic health records and standard documentation practices
