Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ functional status and design individualized treatment plans to help them regain mobility and independence
• Implement therapeutic interventions using evidence-based techniques to improve strength, balance, gait and endurance
• Provide patient and family education to support safe transitions home and promote long-term recovery
• Document accurate, timely progress notes and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes
• Monitor patient response and modify treatment plans as needed to meet goals and ensure safety
• Participate in team meetings and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Valid California Physical Therapist license required
• Current BLS/CPR certification required
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and timely documentation
• Strong clinical assessment and manual therapy skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills — you’ll collaborate with nurses, physicians and case managers
• Travel/contract experience preferred but not required — adaptable clinicians thrive here

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Master’s in Physical Therapy or equivalent accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular evaluation techniques
• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance and fall-prevention strategies
• Proficient with patient safety, body mechanics and assistive device training
• Able to prioritize caseloads and deliver efficient, high-quality care
• Strong patient education and motivational skills to encourage adherence and progress
