Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in delivering high-quality therapeutic interventions
• Provide hands-on treatment including therapeutic exercise, functional training, and modalities as directed
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting care plans per therapist guidance
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered discharge planning
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, professional standards, and documentation requirements

Qualifications

• Licensed or license-eligible Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Massachusetts
• Graduated from an accredited PTA program
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Comfortable working with adult/geriatric populations in a rehabilitation setting
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Prior outpatient or skilled rehab experience preferred but enthusiastic new grads are welcome

Education

• Associate degree or diploma from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with therapeutic exercise, gait training, transfers, and ADL retraining
• Skilled in documenting interventions and outcomes clearly and efficiently
• Ability to follow care plans and implement modifications under PT supervision
• Good clinical judgement, time management, and patient safety focus
• Compassionate patient education and motivational coaching skills
