Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac telemetry continuously and interpret dysrhythmias to keep patients safe
• Provide expert MS/Telemetry nursing care including IV therapy, central and peripheral line management, and blood product administration
• Respond rapidly as a member of the Rapid Response/Code team to stabilize deteriorating patients
• Document accurately and efficiently using Epic to ensure clear team communication and continuity of care
• Manage complex respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula when needed
• Care for specialty needs such as feeding tubes, wound VACs, chest tubes, and neuro post-op drains
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, PT, pharmacy, and rapid response to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain professional practice by following isolation precautions, heparin protocols, and facility policies

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license for North Carolina required (pending licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Telemetry nursing experience preferred for this role
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (must be current)
• Epic charting experience required
• Comfortable working nights and committed to every-other-weekend coverage
• Ability to float within like units to meet facility needs
• Orientation of approximately 360 hours (be prepared for a thorough onboarding)
• First-time travel nurses accepted; travel experience not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation
• Rapid response and code team participation
• IV therapy, PICC/port management, and central line care
• Blood product administration and heparin protocol familiarity
• Epic electronic charting and accurate documentation
• Respiratory support familiarity: BiPAP/CPAP and HFNC management
• Wound care including wound VACs and managing surgical drains
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
