Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, promoting independence and dignity
- Support functional mobility and lead therapeutic exercise interventions
- Document treatment sessions accurately and in a timely manner
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate resident care
- Contribute to a positive, resident-centered environment that supports recovery and quality of life
Qualifications
- Active California COTA license required
- Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (as required for COTA licensure)
- Experience in skilled nursing facility or geriatric care preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with residents and care teams
- Reliable documentation skills and attention to detail
Education
- Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (Associate degree or equivalent) required for COTA licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs and promoting independence
- Knowledge of functional mobility techniques and safe transfer procedures
- Experience implementing therapeutic exercises and activity-based interventions
- Familiarity with clinical documentation and treatment note standards
- Ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate clearly with residents and families
