Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide on-site athletic training coverage for Minot Public Schools athletic programs, delivering high-quality preventive and emergency care
• Assess and treat sports-related injuries using evidence-based sports medicine practices
• Create and implement injury prevention and rehabilitation plans to help athletes return to play safely
• Collaborate with coaches, school staff, and Trinity Health Sports Medicine to coordinate athlete care and referrals
• Document injuries, treatments, and return-to-play decisions accurately in the appropriate medical records system
• Participate in screenings, educational sessions, and outreach to support athlete health and performance
• Support minimal coverage needs at other sites when staffing requires, maintaining continuity of care

Qualifications

• BOC Certification for Athletic Trainers — required
• Must obtain and maintain a North Dakota athletic training license (employer will support licensure process)
• Experience or comfort working in school-based athletic programs is highly preferred
• Availability for days, evenings, and weekend events
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with coaches, parents, and healthcare teams
• Professionalism and ability to work independently as the primary site provider

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field preferred; completion of an accredited athletic training program recommended

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid grounding in sports medicine assessment and acute injury management
• Proficiency with documentation and scheduling systems; familiarity with ShiftWise Flex is a plus
• Knowledge of return-to-play protocols, rehabilitation planning, and injury prevention strategies
• Ability to triage and escalate care appropriately and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Vendor management awareness for credentialing and onboarding processes
