Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced PCU/Med Surg/Oncology unit
• Monitor and manage complex patients including those receiving chemotherapy, trauma care, and post-surgical recovery
• Titrate IV drips such as heparin, cardizem, and insulin as needed
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including case managers, therapists, and social workers to ensure holistic care
• Float to other PCU and Med Surg units as needed, maintaining the same high standard of care
• Uphold hourly rounding and patient experience initiatives to create a supportive environment

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, Med Surg, or Oncology nursing experience
• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA)
• ONS/ONCC certification preferred but not required
• Chemotherapy certification preferred
• EPIC experience within 6 months preferred (not a deal breaker)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical records
• Experience with Alaris IV pumps and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000)
• Ability to manage ventilator patients and ICP monitoring (training provided)
• Strong teamwork and communication skills with a positive attitude
• Commitment to patient-centered care and cultural sensitivity
