Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to orthopedic and medical-surgical patients
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage pain for post-surgical patients (total knee, hip, shoulder, spine)
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on recovery, discharge planning, and home care
• Titrate drips for pain, antibiotics, and blood products as ordered
• Float to MedSurg, rehab, or PCU as needed, maintaining high standards of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or compact state
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Valid driver's license required at submission (for radius rule verification)
• At least 1 year of recent Med Surg or Ortho experience preferred
• Willingness to pass an open-book exam on skills during orientation (90% pass rate required)

• Flexibility to adapt to changing patient assignments and unit needs
• Strong clinical skills in ortho care, pain management, and telemetry monitoring
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• A willingness to learn and take ownership of your department
