Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, days and nights available, with start times including 7a-7p, 7a-3p, 3p-7p, 7p-11p, 11p-7a, 7p-7a. Every other weekend required. Self-scheduling.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed PCU/Oncology/MedSurg unit
Monitor and manage patients with oncology and trauma diagnoses, including chemotherapy administration (preferred)
Titrate drips such as insulin and cardizem as needed
Perform hemodynamic monitoring and manage ventilators (training provided)
Float to other PCU and MedSurg units as needed
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including PT/OT, case managers, and social workers
Conduct hourly rounding and ensure patient safety and satisfaction
Administer medications and document care using EPIC EMR

Qualifications

Valid RN license in Nebraska or compact state
Minimum 1 year of PCU or oncology experience
First-time travelers welcome
ACLS and BLS certifications required
ONS/ONCC certification preferred
Chemotherapy certification preferred
Driver's license required at submittal
Must pass a pass/fail orientation exam with 90%
No artificial nails allowed in patient care areas

Knowledge & Skills

EPIC EMR proficiency (preferred within 6 months)
Ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000, ICP) - training available
Alaris IV pumps
Chemotherapy administration and oncology nursing skills
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to float between PCU and MedSurg levels of care
