Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights), including every 3rd weekend and 3 of 6 major holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-level critical care to premature and ill newborns in a Level 4 NICU
Perform and maintain sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
Monitor cardiac telemetry and manage ventilated patients alongside respiratory therapists
Collaborate with neonatologists, midlevels, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal outcomes
Educate and support families through their NICU journey with empathy and professionalism
Float to mother-baby and labor care as needed, providing care for babies only

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience (busy Level 3 also considered)
Current BLS and NRP certifications required
STABLE certification strongly preferred
Previous travel experience preferred
Proficiency in Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry systems
Ability to pass a SIMs lab demonstrating sterile field technique

Knowledge & Skills

Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
Sterile field technique and infection control
NICU nursing for high-acuity patients including cardiac defects, genetic disorders, and ECMO
Neonatal assessment and resuscitation
Cardiac monitoring and interpretation
Collaboration with respiratory therapy and pharmacy teams
