Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert Labor & Delivery nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum and immediate postpartum patients
• Continuously monitor fetal and maternal status using electronic fetal monitoring and intervene as needed
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and support Cesarean sections in collaboration with the obstetric team
• Deliver immediate newborn care and neonatal resuscitation per NRP guidelines
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner EMR
• Serve as a reliable circulating nurse when needed and support unit workflow and patient safety
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure appropriate for practice (state requirements apply)
• Minimum 2+ years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience (explicit requirement)
• Experience with high-risk obstetrics and immediate newborn care
• Required certifications: NRP, BLS/ALS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring
• Comfortable with Cerner EMR and electronic fetal monitoring systems
• Outgoing, adaptable, and team-oriented personality to fit the unit culture

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor & Delivery procedures: vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage experience
• Advanced fetal monitoring interpretation and intervention
• Immediate newborn assessment and resuscitation skills
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR and unit-specific documentation
• Familiarity with Baxter infusion pumps and Phillips electronic fetal monitoring
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratio environment
