Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
Assess patients frequently, develop and implement individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and monitor patient responses
Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and the care team to coordinate care
Document patient status and interventions clearly and timely in the medical record
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Communicate effectively with patients and families to educate and support recovery

Qualifications

Current, active RN license (Alabama) or applicable compact licensure
Experience or comfort working in a Med/Surg setting
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or other advanced certifications preferred
Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and patient advocacy skills
Ability to work 12-hour shifts and function well in a fast-paced team environment

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in Med/Surg assessments and interventions
Medication administration and IV therapy skills
Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Time management, triage, and critical thinking in acute care settings
