Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered telemetry nursing care to assigned patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and act quickly on changes to ensure patient safety
- Perform focused assessments and document findings thoroughly in the chart
- Administer medications and IV therapies following hospital protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care plans
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Respond effectively to rapid responses and emergencies when they occur
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in California (or compact RN privileges)
- Experience working on a telemetry unit or with continuous cardiac monitoring
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or obtainable
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
- Comfortable using electronic health records for documentation and communication
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
- Cardiac patient assessment and early recognition of deterioration
- IV therapy and medication administration best practices
- Accurate clinical documentation and handoff communication
- Team collaboration and clear patient/family education
