Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care on a MedSurg/ED unit, focusing on geriatric and post-op rehab patients
• Collaborate in team nursing assignments, working with RNs and CNAs to deliver coordinated care
• Monitor and manage patients on CPAP and escalate concerns to the team promptly
• Use EPIC for accurate charting and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Support patient comfort and skin integrity through evidence-based skin care practices
• Assist with dementia- and stroke-related care plans, using patience and clear communication
• Participate in a department-specific orientation (3 shifts) to get up to speed quickly

Qualifications

• Active LPN/LVN license for North Dakota (required)
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (ER experience preferred)
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record
• Experience with geriatric patient care, dementia, stroke care, and skin care
• Comfort working in team nursing model with CNAs and RNs

Education

• Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) — state licensure required
• BSN not required for this role; BLS (AHA) required

Knowledge & Skills

• MedSurg and Emergency Department nursing experience
• Team nursing and collaborative patient assignment
• CPAP management and basic respiratory support familiarity
• Geriatric assessment and rehabilitation nursing skills
• Skin care best practices and pressure injury prevention
• Strong communication and documentation using EPIC
• Ability to work nights and adapt to rural hospital workflows
