Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care to assigned patients
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and promptly escalate changes in rhythm or condition
- Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately
- Administer medications and treatments safely according to orders
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families about care plans and discharge instructions
- Respond effectively to acute changes and participate in emergency interventions
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with telemetry experience (telemetry focus required)
- Active RN licensure appropriate for the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications encouraged
- Comfortable interpreting cardiac rhythms and managing tele-monitored patients
- Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
- Skilled in patient assessment and clinical decision making
- Medication administration and IV therapy competence
- Clear, timely documentation and handoff communication
- Ability to work calmly in urgent or rapidly changing situations
