Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
• Assist with safe patient transfers, mobility, and positioning
• Maintain a clean, safe, and dignified environment for patients
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain accurate documentation
• Communicate courteously with patients, families, and clinical staff
• Support efficient unit flow by responding promptly to care needs

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) valid in California
• Completion of a state-approved CNA program
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain promptly
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and managing patient care in a busy unit
• Strong communication skills, empathy, and a team-first attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care, acute care, or similar settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic clinical skills including bathing, feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance
• Competence taking and documenting vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control and patient safety practices
• Basic charting and documentation skills; ability to follow care plans
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritize patient needs
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with patients and multidisciplinary teams
