Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Day shifts (primarily): 8-hour shift 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM; 10-hour shifts (mids start 9:00 AM or 10:45 AM); 12-hour shifts (start times vary). Call expectations: 1-2 weeknights per week and weekend call approximately 1x/month (from end of shift Friday - 6:30 AM Monday). Schedule includes weekdays with a call rotation.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room with attention to sterile technique and 1:1 patient ratios
• Collaborate with surgeons, OR techs, anesthesia, RT and pharmacy to deliver safe, efficient care for a high-volume suite
• Prepare, monitor and document patient care using Cerner Surginet and Phillips telemetry as needed
• Respond to intraoperative needs including vascular, spine, total joint and general surgery procedures
• Serve as a reliable team member on call rotations, ensuring continuity of care during weeknights and occasional weekends
• Participate in unit orientation and preceptor-guided learning to maintain high standards of practice

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) credential (per job title) and eligibility to practice in the state of California
• ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• COVID-19 vaccination as required by the facility
• Minimum 2 years OR/perioperative nursing experience (experience with total joints, vascular, and spine strongly preferred)
• Comfortable with Cerner Surginet charting and Phillips telemetry
• Ability to work in a fast-paced OR environment with high case volume

Education

• Nursing degree or diploma (BSN not required per job posting)

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing and sterile technique
• Operating Room (OR) workflows and scrub/ circulating roles
• Cerner Surginet EMR documentation
• Telemetry (Phillips) and ventilator familiarity
• Experience across specialties: total joints, vascular, spine, neuro, thoracic, ENT, plastics, orthopedics
• Strong teamwork, communication and situational awareness in acute care settings
