Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and patient conditions, reporting changes to the nursing team
- Assist with safe patient transfers, ambulation, and positioning
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate clearly during handoffs
- Support infection control practices and ensure a safe, clean environment
- Collaborate with nurses and other care team members to deliver coordinated care
- Help with admissions, discharges, and bedside care to enhance patient comfort
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
- California CNA certification/license preferred
- Ability to work overnight shifts and adapt to per diem scheduling
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Previous experience in long-term care, hospital, or skilled nursing settings a plus
- Preferred: Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic patient care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Skill in taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Understanding of infection prevention and patient safety protocols
- Reliable documentation habits and clear communication during handoffs
- Ability to assist with mobility, transfers, and safe patient handling
