Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in the fast-paced emergency department
Provide direct nursing care including medication administration, wound care, and cardiac monitoring
Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate timely care
Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses clearly and professionally in the EHR
Stabilize and prepare patients for transfer or admission as clinical needs dictate
Advocate for patient safety and quality while keeping calm under pressure

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse license in Louisiana (or eligible to obtain)
Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or obtainable soon after hire
Experience in Emergency Department or acute care settings is preferred
Comfort working 12-hour shifts and in a high-acuity, fast-moving environment
Strong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

Clinical assessment and triage in emergency settings
Proficient with EHR documentation and electronic charting
Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
IV medication administration and urgent medication management
Effective communication and teamwork in high-stress situations
Ability to prioritize multiple patients and tasks efficiently
