Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate ICU care to critically ill patients using best practices in critical care nursing
• Continuously assess patient condition and intervene promptly to stabilize and improve outcomes
• Administer medications, manage ventilators and advanced life support equipment safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to develop and carry out individualized care plans
• Document patient status and interventions thoroughly and accurately in the patient record
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and participate in codes and rapid response events
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and help champion patient safety

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (ability to obtain Hawaii RN licensure if not already licensed)
• ICU experience preferred; critical care background or recent ICU orientation a strong plus
• BLS required; ACLS and other critical care certifications preferred
• Comfortable working 12.5-hour shifts in a fast-paced critical care environment
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
• BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of critical care assessment and interventions
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Proficiency with IV/infusion pump management and medication titration
• Ability to interpret EKGs and respond to arrhythmias
• Comfortable using electronic health records and appropriate documentation practices
• Strong prioritization, clinical decision-making, and crisis management skills
