Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting with compassion and respect
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
• Provide safe patient transfers and positioning while following proper body mechanics
• Support individualized care plans by documenting observations and communicating with nurses and interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control protocols
• Engage residents in friendly conversation and meaningful activities to promote emotional well-being
• Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests to ensure comfort and safety

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Connecticut) or eligible for state certification
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
• Comfortable assisting with mobility and personal care tasks
• Basic documentation skills and the ability to follow care plans
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care procedures and ADLs
• Familiarity with infection control practices and PPE use
• Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• Time management and basic documentation skills
• Safe transfer and lifting techniques
