Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to Med/Surg pediatric patients
• Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient status, communicating changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, following facility protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, care plans and discharge instructions in a supportive way
• Document care and patient responses clearly and timely in the medical record
• Advocate for patient safety and quality improvement initiatives on the unit

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or eligibility through compact licensure
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
• Clinical experience in Med/Surg and pediatric patient care (experience working with pediatrics a strong plus)
• Comfort working 12+ hour shifts and adapting to unit needs
• Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of pediatric and medical-surgical nursing principles
• Skilled in patient assessment, medication administration and IV therapy basics
• Ability to educate patients and families with empathy and clarity
• Competence with electronic medical records and clinical documentation
• Calm, decisive approach to clinical problems and effective collaboration with the care team
