Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement occupational therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising OTR to help patients regain independence
• Deliver hands-on therapeutic interventions that improve daily living skills and functional mobility
• Document patient progress and outcomes clearly and promptly to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create meaningful, patient-centered goals
• Educate patients and families on home programs, adaptive strategies, and safe use of assistive devices
• Adapt and set up therapeutic equipment to meet individual patient needs and safety requirements
• Contribute to a positive, recovery-focused environment that motivates patients toward meaningful progress

Qualifications

• Current COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) credential
• Eligibility for or current Montana occupational therapy assistant licensure (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Reliable clinical documentation skills and familiarity with common OT treatment approaches
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient and team interactions
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous experience in inpatient/outpatient/rehabilitation settings is a plus

Education

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related field (typical requirement)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic techniques for ADLs, IADLs, and functional mobility
• Skilled in patient assessment, treatment planning, and activity adaptation
• Proficient in clinical documentation and progress note standards
• Ability to safely use and instruct on assistive devices and adaptive equipment
• Good time management and caseload prioritization skills
• Comfortable working as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
